The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and Moving Forward

When I started this blog I never thought that I would still be blogging about my job search into the summer. I am more than disappointed about how things are going. Over these past months I have seen:

The Good

People who have not hired me but who have been very kind and encouraging
People who have helped me and people who have offered or tried to help
Free training in new skills
Other people in the same situation offering support and sharing information on networking and job opportunities.

The Bad
People who have been rude and treated me as if I were not worthy of oxygen
People who have lied to me
People who have blatantly had their own self-interest in mind without any consideration of how their actions would affect me as a person
People who have insulted me in more ways than I can count

The Ugly
Resumes that ended up in black holes
Job scams
Lengthy and probing online job applications that did not work properly
The job offer that was extended and then receded because of where I live (I did not blog about this experience, but it actually happened.)

I have decided that it is time to stop blogging about my job search. I actually feel that by continuing to do so I am only reinforcing the fact that I have unsuccessful job interviews. It is as if how to conduct an unsuccessful job search is becoming my brand. While others have successfully blogged their way into jobs by blogging about looking for a job, I don't seem to be experiencing the same results.

I enjoy blogging and will continue to blog but I feel it is time to expand the topic. I have started another blog where the I plan to discuss a wider range of topics. Once I get it up and running I will share the link.
